Cookie Policy
Last updated September 6, 2026
The short version
This site sets no cookies of its own. Everything below is set by Google, for analytics and (once advertising is enabled) for ads. The calculators do not need any of it. They run entirely in your browser, and the dimensions you enter are never transmitted to us, stored, or associated with you, whatever you choose here.
What a cookie is here
A cookie is a small file a site asks your browser to keep. The same rules in this policy cover the related technologies that do the same job: local storage, web beacons, pixels and device identifiers. Where this page says cookie, read it as covering all of them.
What is set, and by whom
| Cookie or store | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
rcl-consent | RoofCostLab (local storage) | Remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked again. Strictly necessary, and set only if you make a choice. | Until you clear site data |
rcl-country, rcl-loc | RoofCostLab (session storage) | Caches the country and city already known to the network that served the page, so cost figures can say your area rather than a generic phrase. Never leaves your browser. | Until the tab is closed |
_ga, _ga_XK2QBLEHK6 | Google Analytics | Counts visits and tells us which pages get read. Analytics. | Up to 2 years |
Cookies on doubleclick.net, googlesyndication.com,
google.com, googleadservices.com | Google AdSense and its ad partners | Serving and measuring ads, including ads based on your prior visits to this and other sites. Advertising. | Varies by cookie, typically up to 2 years |
Advertising cookies are listed because this site has applied to Google AdSense. Until that application is approved and ads are switched on, no advertising cookies are set at all.
Third parties
Third parties, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons or your IP address to collect information, as a result of analytics and ad serving on this site. Google and its partners may use those cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google explains what it collects and why at How Google uses information from sites that use its services and How Google uses cookies in advertising.
Your choice, and how to change it
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, this site asks before it loads anything that is not strictly necessary, and the analytics tag is not loaded at all until you accept. Declining is a single click and leaves the site fully usable.
Elsewhere, analytics load without a prompt, which is permitted where you are. You can still opt out of everything below.
To change a choice you have already made, use , or the same link in the footer of every page. Clearing this site from your browser data also resets it, and you will be asked again.
You can opt out independently of anything we do:
- Personalised advertising, at Google Ads Settings.
- Third-party vendor cookies, at aboutads.info/choices and youronlinechoices.com.
- Google Analytics on every site, with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
- All cookies, in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop the calculators working.
Affiliate links
Some material links on project pages go to retailers and are affiliate links, marked as sponsored in the page code. If you follow one, that retailer sets its own cookies under its own policy, which we do not control and cannot switch off from here. We may earn a commission at no extra cost to you, and it never changes the prices our calculators produce.
Do we sell your personal information?
No. We have no accounts, no logins, no mailing list, and we store nothing you enter. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising beyond the advertising cookies described above, which you can decline.
